Beginning Genealogy Series

 This four part course is designed to teach the fundamental principles and process of excellent genealogical process. Participants will learn to prepare a foundation and plan for research to include basic information gathering, organizing your data (paper and software), documentation and analysis.
            Class I, Feb. 9: How to Begin-Developing a Research Foundation
            Class II, Mar 2: Preparing a Research Plan and Intro to Rootsmagic
            Class III, Mar 23: Conducting Research, Analysis and Recording
            Class IV, Apr 13: Resources Online and at the Library, Courthouse and
                 Cemetery too! 

There will be class assignments, review and lots of individual help in each two hour session. The text for the class is How to Do Everything Genealogy, fourth edition, by George G. Morgan. The Ames Public Library will have several copies of this book for class participants to check out if you do not chose to buy your own copy.
